Buying a New Home

Buying a home is one of the most significant decisions you'll ever make, and honestly, it can feel overwhelming — especially in a market like the Bay Area. There are a lot of moving pieces, but it the most important step is understanding your situation — your budget, your timeline, what you're hoping for in a neighborhood, and what's driving the decision to buy in the first place. The more context I have, the better I can help you focus your search and avoid spending energy on homes that aren't truly the right fit.

When we start looking at properties together, I'll share what I'm seeing honestly. If something about a home concerns me — the price feels off, the neighborhood has a dynamic you should know about, or something in the listing doesn't add up — we need to know.  Finding as much information on the property is key in knowing if the home is right for you.  All home investigation reports need carefully reviewed, flag the things that genuinely need attention, and determine whether an issue is something to negotiate on, budget for, or — in some cases — walk away from.  The right call depends on your situation, and I'll help you think it through. My job as your real agent is to gather all the pertinent information so you can make the right decision on your purchase.

When it comes to financing, I can be more helpful than most real estate agents because I'm also a licensed loan broker. That means I can sit down with you and actually work through your mortgage options — not just hand you a referral. Understanding your loan before you're in contract matters more than people realize. It affects how you structure your offer, what timelines are realistic, and how much flexibility you have when negotiations get tight.

Once you're in contract, there's still quite a bit that needs to be managed — escrow timelines, lender conditions, title work, final walkthroughs, and a dozen small things that can cause delays if nobody's paying attention. I stay on top of all of it so we can make sure the closing the process moves forward cleanly and close on time.
